The year 2000 was a significant year for all of us. There was talk that the world might end but despite all odds we made it! I know my family stayed home to watch the world festivities on TV– just in case the venue we would have gone to blew up.

I feel all of the hype towards whether the world would end or not, led people to reflect on what was most important to them in their lives. I believe this act of reflection inspired songwriters to sing about love and loss.
