  • Maddie & Tae Reveal Their Real Thoughts About Country Music

Maddie & Tae Really Know How To Speak Their Minds & Are Not Afraid To Tell The Truth!

It all began with an innocent comment Madison Marlow (“Maddie” in Maddie & Tae) made one St. Patrick's Day.  She said that she “felt bad for the girls in country hits.”  She and partner-in-crime, Taylor Dye (“Tae”) wrote the tongue-in-cheek song, “Girl in a Country Song”, to combat the “Bro-Country” wave of 2013 and 2014.

The song took off like lightning, hitting number 1 status in 23 weeks, only the 2nd time in country music history that a female duet hit #1 (the 1st being The Wreckers in 2006).  Now, Maddie & Tae have hit the big time, touring with the likes of Dierks Bentley on his Sounds of Summer Tour.

They released their self-titled EP on November 14th, 2014, which included “Girl in a Country Song,” along with 3 other songs the duo co-wrote: “Sierra,” “Fly” and “Your Side of Town.”

Their debut album, “Start Here” dropped August 28, 2015 and at a release party on August 18, 2015 they celebrated by singing a duet with none other then Lee Ann Womack!

Keep reading to find out how they're handling their new-found fame and their take on country music!
